Easy reading is damn hard writing ~ Nathaniel HawthorneNow, ain't that the truth?!
Mediocre writers can throw around big words with the best of them, but are they communicating? Sometimes we just can't stop ourselves. We feel as if we must work hard to sound intelligient.
Instead of writing to communicate, we write to impress. Resist the temptation to do that. Commuications is the goal. Make it easy on your readers. They'll thank you for it by turning pages and not being able to put your book down.
